We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Berlin-based Resonate to develop a more transparent and artist friendly music industry ecosystem.

Resonate, an ethical music streaming co-operative, is already leading the way in redefining the relationship between artists and their fans in the streaming era. Built on blockchain technology, the service has fairness hardwired into its code and provides a pioneering ‘stream2own’ model that ensures not only fair pay for artists, but also the ability for fans to own music in a new and unique way, one which revitalises the value of recordings.

Reflecting Resonate’s mission to be ‘Defenders of Culture’ Off Axis has been revolutionsing the grassroots live music sector for the last five years. We have taken on the challenge of enabling emerging artists to find guaranteed and attentive audiences outside of their hometowns, and in turn allowing them to build national fanbases in a way never before possible. This has been possible by recruiting exceptional artists from 85 towns and cities across the UK and providing the means for them to work together for mutual benefit.

Having been in discussions for the last six months, it is clear that there is a shared belief that by working together, Off Axis and Resonate can build a more efficient music industry, both in the live and recorded sectors, where platforms are designed and run for the purpose of benefiting artists.

This new partnership offers a unique opportunity to combine, and substantially scale our networks in order to truly embed a pioneering, ethical and transparent alternative music industry model – one which allows artists to reach wider audiences and ultimately to earn more money.
